Students' Club

The dynamism of academic life spills out of the classrooms. It is a credit to the mental and intellectual focus of the students that many of the clubs are extensions of their academic and career aspirations. There are several annual ‘fests’ and entertainment events organized by the institution every year. Students’ clubs provide a forum for interaction among themselves and the outside world events, however varied, it may be formal or informal, but brings out the passion in youngsters and develop their organizational skills. The clubs bring about a good balance of work, fun and leisure activities and ensure the all-round development of students.

Importance of Student Club :

Students’ Clubs are the main hub of student activity. They provide an outlet and a stage for the creative juices of young minds and hearts. The clubs give you the chance to apply classroom learning in the outside world. This helps you to gain invaluable leadership as well as life skills. In addition to connecting other students who have similar interests, students’ clubs make students to interact with alumni and professionals in their fields of interest.

Red Ribbon Club

The RRC youth of Laureate Institute of Pharmacy, Jawlamukhi is encouraged to learn about safe and healthy lifestyles. The RRC promotes access to information on healthy life and voluntary blood donation. They create and provide opportunity to the zeal of volunteerism among youth to contribute towards the control and prevention of HIV&AIDS. The Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary on-campus intervention program for students. The programme organized by RRC addresses the knowledge, attitude and behavior of the youths in the interrelated areas of Voluntary Blood Donation, HIV & AIDS, as demanded by their age, environment, and life style.

Vision

To prepare youth as peer educators/agents of change both among youth as well as society at large by developing their skills on leadership, advocacy, communication and team building.

Objective

Red Ribbon Club programme with the objective of bringing about behaviour change in young minds employs various strategies like:

  • Celebrating Life Program

  • Cultural Competitions
  • Interactions with positive people, Transgender, Injection Drug users, ICTC- Counsellors
  • Awareness campaigns (Rallies, Outreach activities)
ACTION PLAN

a. Will organize Positive speaker bureau (PSB) in school & colleges to dispel myths and misconceptions and reduce discrimination against

b. Will organize Voluntary Blood donation camps

c. Will organize various awareness camps like TB awareness camp, AIDs awareness camp, and Domestic violence and its impacts, Alcoholic Addiction awareness camps etc in unreachable villages of Himachal Pradesh.

d. Best peer leader will be honored with an awards

Funds raising stratergies::

A fundraising event (also called a fundraiser) is an event or campaign whose primary purpose is to raise money for a cause, charity or non-profit organization.

  1. Raising of funds through competing for grant funding by various bodies
  2. Financial help from parent institute
  3. Club has decided to do Nukad Nataks which will benefit in two ways:
    • Social Awareness among the villagers
    • Voluntary donation by the villagers to help the mission of the club
  4. Organizing walkathon, walking marathon or sponsored walk

SPORTS CLUB

Sports club encourages students to develop their sports skills in various outdoor and indoor games like Football, Handball, Tennis, Cricket, Ball Badminton, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Athletics, Chess, Carom Board, Table Tennis, Shuttle Badminton, Physical Fitness Program (will be conducted in Gym), Weight Lifting. Our college has grounds and equipment for each of these sports. The club also encourages the students to participate in Inter College and Intramural College sports competitions.

To foster a culture of sports excellence, promote physical fitness, and provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and passion for sports within the college community.

Objectives

1. Organize regular training sessions: Arrange coaching sessions and training camps led by qualified coaches and trainers to enhance the skills and abilities of club members in different sports disciplines.

2. Conduct intra-college tournaments: Organize regular intra-college tournaments and matches, encouraging maximum participation from students across different departments and fostering healthy competition.

3. Participate in intercollegiate competitions: Identify suitable intercollegiate sports events and ensure active participation from the sports club members. Prepare and train teams to represent the college in various sports competitions.

4. Establish collaborations: Seek collaborations with other sports clubs, organizations, and institutions to facilitate knowledge exchange, joint training programs, and friendly matches, broadening exposure and opportunities for the club members.

Eco-Club & Karuna Club

Eco club in college will encourage students to participate and contribute towards significant environmental activities. It’s a platform for students to reach out to their neighbours in order to encourage and involve them in environmental behaviour& Karuna Club instils Karuna principles in its members. The main goal is to raise pupil awareness and instil in them a sense of compassion for all living things. “Live and Let Live” is the club’s main motto.

    Objectives:
  • To encourage students to plant trees in order to preserve their surroundings green and clean.
  • To raise public awareness about the need for environmental protection.
  • To keep the campus clean both inside and out.
  • To raise public awareness about environment change.
  • To educate students so that public and sanitary personnel are aware of the dangers of indiscriminate garbage dumping and burning, which causes respiratory ailments.
  • To understand their societal responsibilities and be compassionate, loving, and kind to all living species, including plants, animals, and their peers.

    The college’s Eco Club & Karuna Club, in collaboration with NSS volunteers, makes every effort to create a green campus & social activity.

  • Campaign against the use of loud speakers and the prohibition of plastic bags.
  • Promotion of environmental awareness by rallies in public places.
  • Plantations are carried out on a regular basis by the Eco-club, Karuna Club and NSS on the college grounds, as well as on the roadside, temples, and orphanages.
  • Eco club, with the support of NSS volunteers and other students, removes waste plants and sharp bushes on a regular basis.
  • NSS Unit volunteers collect scrap materials such as plastics and other trash from the college and dispose of it properly.
